Kenya’s United Democratic Alliance dismissed Rigathi Gachagua’s claims of planned violence ahead of the Nov. 27 Mbeere North by-election. Secretary General Hassan Omar said Gachagua’s letter to the Inspector General alleging threats from UDA supporters was unfounded and aimed at seeking sympathy. Omar said the party’s campaigns have remained peaceful and cautioned Gachagua against linking its candidate to the claims. Gachagua has asked authorities to ensure his safety during upcoming rallies.

President William Ruto directed the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority to maintain consistent delivery of medicines to public hospitals under the Universal Health Coverage program. Speaking in Marsabit County, he told KEMSA to send supplies directly to facilities to prevent shortages. Ruto said the agency has sufficient funding and urged Kenyans to register with the Social Health Authority for primary care. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to streamline national ID issuance and support county development.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said Raila Odinga and the Orange Democratic Movement never attempted to take power through unconstitutional means. Speaking at an ODM event in Mombasa, he cited Raila’s reliance on legal processes during the 2007–08 post-election crisis and the negotiations that produced the Grand Coalition Government. Mudavadi said ODM has supported electoral reforms and contributed to the 2010 Constitution, including its strong advocacy for devolution.
