AnkhLave Arts Alliance is bringing Echoes of Home: Kenya Edition to Brooklyn, marking the exhibition’s first showing outside Africa. Opening at the Old Stone House, the month-long event features large-scale murals by Kenyan artists and an international exchange linking African, Caribbean, and African American creatives. Founded by artist Dario Mohr, the project builds on its 2025 Kenya debut and focuses on heritage, memory, and shared diaspora identity.
Mombasa’s Little Theatre Club, a national monument founded in 1947, faces possible eviction after Kenya Railways Corporation proposed converting the site into a technical training center. The venue has hosted decades of theatre and music performances and remains a key cultural space on the Coast. Artists and cultural advocates have launched campaigns and petitions. They are calling on government agencies to protect the theatre while addressing vocational training needs.
The third edition of the Kilele Summit will take place in Nairobi from February 23 to 28, bringing together musicians, technologists, and cultural practitioners from East Africa and abroad. Held under the theme Sound and Solidarity, the event will feature performances, residencies, workshops, and panel discussions. The programme emphasizes cross-border collaboration, music technology, and experimental artistic practices, with both regional and international artists participating.
