Two hundred and fifty young people in Dagoretti North graduated from a digital skills programme delivered through the DigiTruck Digital Literacy Initiative, strengthening access to ICT skills, online safety, and digital innovation. The programme, implemented by Huawei Technologies, uses a mobile, solar-powered classroom to reach underserved communities. Speaking at the ceremony, Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi said the initiative equips youth to access jobs, entrepreneurship, and opportunities in the digital economy.
Kenya’s State Department for Lands and Physical Planning has rolled out a fully digital stamp duty processing system, replacing manual procedures with electronic assessments and payments. The National Stamp Duty Module, integrated into the Ardhisasa land information system and linked to e-Citizen via ArdhiPay, is now operational in 36 land registries. Officials say the system improves efficiency, transparency, and accountability while reducing transaction times and curbing malpractice in land administration.
Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi said the constituency will equip five ICT hubs with more than 300 computers to build digital skills among young people. Prizes include a residential apartment, money market fund investments, and monthly cash rewards. The bank said the campaign targets new and existing customers aged 18 and above. Kenya Ports Authority confirmed the arrival of the country’s first liquefied natural gas-powered vessel at the Port of Mombasa. The Höegh Australis, which operates primarily on LNG, docked after an 11-day voyage from Singapore. KPA said LNG-powered ships reduce sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide, and carbon dioxide emissions compared with conventional vessels. The docking highlights Mombasa’s growing capacity to handle next-generation, lower-emission ships under evolving global maritime standards.
Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority approved three new online financial service platforms to operate in the regulated market. Safaricom Plc and Airtel Money Kenya Limited received licenses as Intermediary Service Platform Providers. CC Kenya Securities Limited also secured approval to operate as an online foreign exchange dealing broker. The regulator said the move will expand investor choice, boost competition, and improve digital access to capital market products.
Kenya’s Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale dismissed claims of a constitutional crisis over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), saying the Supreme Court has provided a lawful path forward. He said the court advised that a fully constituted IEBC should seek fresh guidance on boundary reviews.
