KCB Bank Kenya launched a nationwide savings campaign to reward customers and encourage consistent saving. The four-month promotion centers on the KCB Goal Savings Account. Prizes include a residential apartment, money market fund investments, and monthly cash rewards. The bank said the campaign targets new and existing customers aged 18 and above. It also supports KCB’s broader focus on financial inclusion and long-term savings discipline.
Kenya Ports Authority confirmed the arrival of the country’s first liquefied natural gas-powered vessel at the Port of Mombasa. The Höegh Australis, which operates primarily on LNG, docked after an 11-day voyage from Singapore. KPA said LNG-powered ships reduce sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide, and carbon dioxide emissions compared with conventional vessels. The docking highlights Mombasa’s growing capacity to handle next-generation, lower-emission ships under evolving global maritime standards.
Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority approved three new online financial service platforms to operate in the regulated market. Safaricom Plc and Airtel Money Kenya Limited received licenses as Intermediary Service Platform Providers. CC Kenya Securities Limited also secured approval to operate as an online foreign exchange dealing broker. The regulator said the move will expand investor choice, boost competition, and improve digital access to capital market products.
